Frontgrade Technologies is a premier provider of high-reliability, radiation-hardened microelectronics and computing subsystems for the space, commercial aerospace, and defense industries. Focused on rapidly advancing spacecraft computing, Frontgrade leads the integration of high-performance computing systems for both national security and commercial applications.
Frontgrade integrates VORAGO’s VA7230 microprocessor to deliver advanced, space-qualified Single Board Computers (SBCs) for demanding edge computing missions. By integrating our Arm®-based, radiation-tolerant MPU with a built-in graphics processor (GPU) into their SBC2A72-VNXP (VITA 90) and SBC2A72-SVPX (VITA 78) boards, Frontgrade provides scalable, low-SWaP solutions tailored for LEO MEO, and Lunar environments.
Together, these turnkey computing solutions enable mission developers to seamlessly deploy high-performance AI/ML workloads, autonomous navigation, and real-time data processing directly on orbit.
SBC2A72-VNXPSBC2A72-SVPX“We initially selected the VORAGO M4 processor as a supervisor for the main SoC to provide the highest levels of radiation performance. We quickly discovered that the high performance and rich peripheral set of the MCU enabled it to take on a more primary role in managing the spacecraft bus, offloading many tasks from the Versal SoC to the VORAGO rad hard MCU. This enables a highly efficient dual strategy that leverages the AMD adaptive SoC for intensive AI applications while reducing the overall power envelope necessary for the spacecraft.”
